Ruin an IRS employee’s weekend
I have prepared tons of tax returns over my lifetime. I worked at a Jackson Hewitt for a few years, but I began my tax prep days while in the military. I volunteered to help my fellow service members with their tax returns through the VITA program. Along with helping other members, I got to get out of work for three or four days to learn the tax code. I remember we had an IRS agent teaching the course. She said something that shocked me.
Did you know if you ask an IRS employee to do your taxes that they have to do it…free of charge? Don’t expect any creative accounting when following this route, but you also avoid paying to have your taxes done or ruining your weekend with the stress of preparing yourself. Of course, you could easily ruin an IRS agent’s weekend if you and a few close friends show up at the employee’s door with your bag of receipts.
